Kingston Bridge
Kingston Bridge was designed by Edward Lapidge in 1825 and opened by The
Duchess of Clarence in 1828. It was widened in 1914 and again in 2000
to accommodate increasing traffic and bus and cycle lanes. Engineers strengthened
the existing bridge and built a new one alongside in mirror image, reopened
by HRH The Duke of Kent on Friday 29th June 2001.
