The Upstream Nature Conservation Area

Access is through a private garden. The area appears better in terms of nature conservation than the downstream end with holly, box and considerably more ivy. There are more birds and there is also more light. An area of five meters from the bank edge is inundated by tide. This end is higher than the other but has similar fragile thin trees. There are no mosses, but one fungus species was found on several trees and on the ground (Agaricus bisporus)
There are many flying insects and mosquitoes, an important population of pill woodlice and many spiders -Hahniidea (Antistea elegans Blackwall) and Linyphiidae (Linyphia triangularis Clerck) dominate, and Theridiidae (Enophognatha ovata Clerck).
